Music: Yeshua [Jesus] - Christy Ayoo

Christy Ayoo is out with a new single titled “Yeshua” which means “Jesus”. The music minister shares what inspired the song, and the journey so far…

‘I really did not understand who God was. I lived my life without any sense of accountability to God, not knowing that He cares and wants to be involved with everything about my life. My real Christian walk began when I committed my life to Christ with so much conviction that Jesus had saved my soul in 2007. I started receiving songs which I personally did not pay attention to, though they had depth and had power in them.

My Choir Director one time instructed all of us to write a song and I did; when it was sung, a lot of people were blessed. The more I became close to God’s word the more songs I received through the Holy Spirit. Many times I tried not to pay attention to the songs because I was having some challenges but the more I tried to stop, the more I became restless and would have to go back to God to ask him to have his way and do as he pleases with me. Becoming a songwriter and worship leader was not a deliberate decision of mine, I consider it a privilege’.

CHURCHES SHOULD INVEST MORE IN MUSIC By Kayode Olusoji

CHURCHES SHOULD INVEST MORE IN MUSIC

If I have the opportunity to address the Church on Church Music; I will advise the church to invest & improve more in the following areas:

1. Good Sound System & Musical Instruments in all churches.

 2. Well trained musicians & singers. The church should continually train the musicians and singers. David was the one who instituted the first choir, made up of 4000 members. Out of them, we have 288 skillful musicians who were training others. So training should be part of the church music. Every organization that wants to grow do not joke with its training arm. Same thing goes for the church work force especially in the music department.

3. Every church should hire a professional Sound Engineer. This is lacking in many churches.

4. While constructing the church building, the sound  should be part of the plan. A good Sound Engineer should advise on this.

5. Record label: Can all church think in this direction & have a good Record Label where all good artists in the church can be engaged. Some denominations are doing this already, others can do same too.

 6. Distribution Network: Church branches can be used as a distribution network for musical albums. This is a good medium to propagate the gospel, because music is a very powerful tool.

7. Establishing Music schools or music training arms in churches. There should be a succession plan for music in the church by encouraging the children, teenagers and adults in the church who are musically inclined to attend such music school. Let's start grooming them right from a tender age so that the church can continue to dish out good and  quality music to God.

8. Good welfare package for those who are into music ministry and more support for musical concert, music production & promotion.

9. Let the church teach & discourage the members from supporting worldly music.  ...and more.

MUSIC: Dem Go Talk ~ Kefee

“Kokoroko” crooner, Kefee, is back with a new single titled, Dem Go Talk”.
The artist who recently graduated from a film school in the U.S. has wasted no time in continuing with her music career and this new track attests to that.
‘Dem Go Talk’ was produced by Teekay Witty and Kefee had this to say about the song:
“You realize that a lot of people get affected by what other people say about them. I wrote this song to encourage them not to lose sleep over what others think about them because people must talk just like we must eat breathe and laugh, it’s just a part of life. Dem go talk but no mind them!’’, she said.
